Like most, my spending has slowed down in every aspect this month. I’ve been trying to put more thought into each purchase I make even before the quarantine. Keep reading to see what I picked up.
Ole Henriksen Let’s Get Luminous Set
This set by Ole Henriksen contains 3 of my fave skincare products. The eye cream is more useful to me during the day because it helps my under eye makeup apply better. The moisturizer and serum gives me a nice healthy glow and lasts me about 2-2.5 months with daily use. Pro tip: transfer the moisturizer to an airless jar like this one and use one pump a day. It’ll last you longer.
Farmacy Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum
I had just finished up my miniature Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos serum and wasn’t ready to pay for the full size. When researching alternate AHA/BHA serums this one by Farmacy came highly recommended. I have to say that even though it’s only been a few weeks of nightly use, I can already see some of my dark spots fading. It does tingle a bit when I apply it but that went away after the first week. Will definitely show a before and after picture and give a full review when I’m done with this bottle.
Simple Micellar Water
Hands down this is the best micellar water that I’ve tried. I purchased 2 of these because they’ve been hard to come by in store and a lot of places have been out of stock online. I’m not sure if the brand is going to discontinue this like they did my fave cleansing oil and I didn’t want to chance not being able to buy them anymore.
Dove Restoring Body Wash with Coconut Butter & Cocoa Butter
Is it just me or does it take forever to finish a bottle of body wash? I had just finished the bottle of Philosophy Fresh Cream I was using for the past 3 months when I picked up this one by Dove. This stuff smells as good as it sounds and really does leave my skin feeling soft. Unless you have an aversion to either of those smells, you won’t regret ordering this one. The scent is more cocoa butter dominant and doesn’t linger too long after you get out the shower.
Make Up For Ever HD Underpainting Color Correcting Palette in Dark
Was interested in a new color corrector and came across this cream palette by MUFE. So far I’ve been using it every time I do a full face and when I want to do something quick. Keep an eye out on my post on this product where I’ll go into great detail about how I use it. So far, it’s been very easy to use and helps to produce damn near flawless looks.
Milk Hydro Grip Primer
I’ve been using Hydro Grip on and off since it came out last year. It works so well under most of my water-based foundations even though it doesn’t control my oil. As long as I use a mattifying primer in my t-zone I’m good all day. My makeup tends to look better for a longer time when I wear this primer with a compatible foundation.
Cover FX Power Play Foundation
Sephora will no longer be carrying this brand’s products so it was on sale. Being as though it’s my favorite foundation ever, it was the perfect opportunity to pick up another bottle. I picked it up for for $27, which is a good discount from it’s original price of $44. If you can find your shade and have combination skin go ahead and get you one.
Fenty Setting Powder in Cashew
My beloved Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting powder also ran out this month after using it for almost two years! Granted I only used it under my eyes but still. That’s a long ass time to be using one product and I wanted to switch it up. I heard mixed reviews about the Fenty Setting Powder and decided to take the plunge. Let me tell you something: I’m mad that I slept on it for so long! This powder leaves my under eyes looking so smooth and doesn’t cause more creasing than I already have.
I talked about these Spring-inspired lipsticks in my post here so I won’t repeat myself too much. But if you like bright lipsticks or want to try them out at home, pick up one of these beautiful colors.
I’d like to hear from you guys on whether you have a beauty budget and what you bought last month. Also let me know if you’ve curbed your spending at all due to recent events.
