My June Favorites & Fails – Skincare & Makeup

June Favorites, beauty favorites, skincare favorites, makeup favorites

Hi friends! June was…something, to put it mildly. Similar to the month of May, my skincare routine hasn’t changed much. My makeup routine, however, has changed a bit. There were a lot of favorites and one fail (kinda). I’m being more selective with what I choose to purchase so this month doesn’t have many new products. Keep reading to see my June favorites, including one new to me as well as those that I’ve been rediscovering in my stash.

Makeup Forever Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder Foundation – Y455

Last month I talked about getting a lighter shade of this powder because the one I bought originally was slightly too dark. Well, I think I found a winner! I’ve been using this powder to tone down the shine of my sunscreen and to set my concealer under my eyes. I’ve found that it gives my face a more natural look which I attribute to it’s lightweight feeling. Definitely a keeper throughout the summer. You can get it here or here. Honestly, this product will probably be in my favorites from here on out lol.

Fenty’s Cream Blushes – Fuego Flush, Bikini Martini, & Drama Class

These are my first cream blushes ever and let me just tell you that these are so easy to use and they look beautiful on my skin. I apply them with a dense flat-top foundation brush before lightly setting with powder and it lasts most of the day. They fade away pretty nicely and feel lightweight no matter how much I applied to my face.

I really hope these continue to be raved about because they’re really good blushes. You can buy them here or here.

Olehenriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum

I saw an instant improvement in my skin since using this. The Truth Serum was a cute girl but Banana Bright came to do what she couldn’t! I feel like my skin has gotten brighter and it looks a bit smoother too. Could just be in my head but I like what I see so far and it doesn’t irritate my skin. Buy it here.

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

Okay, so my BFF bought this and raved about it so much that I just had to try it myself. My under eyes are pretty normal but this cream just does something extra to them. If you are prone to skin congestion, be careful with this one as it can get heavy. Just using a tiny dot and patting it in feels so hydrating. There is no fragrance, which is great for me because anything scented heavier than my OH Banana Bright Eye Cream will irritate my eyes and cause them to water until I wash it off. Buy it here, here, or here.

The Inkey List BHA

I talked about this last month and I really think it’s single-handedly saving my face from the mask breakouts. I still get breakouts from wearing masks every time I leave the house but this BHA serum helps to slow them down. Before using this product I would have a breakout consisting of several bumps on both sides of my face the day after wearing a mask. Now I only get like 2 or 3 on one side. That’s called progress people! And I’ll take it. Buy it here.

FAB Weightless Liquid Mineral Sunscreen

Okay last month I talked about this being one of my favorites but I need to make an update. While I still reach for this sunscreen, I only wear it under makeup because there is a purplish-tint. Not white, purple. I hadn’t notice it before because the times that I didn’t wear it under makeup, I applied my Sephora Microsmooth powder to keep the shine away. One day I decided not to apply the powder and saw the truth. I’m glad I stayed in that day.

I’m gonna continue to wear it but ONLY under makeup. See my 2 Minute Review here.

Share below any thoughts you have on any of the products I listed here. I’d like to hear from you guys on what your May favorites and fails were. Also let me know if you want to see further reviews on any the products mentioned. I have a few coming on the MUFE powder and the Nars concealer.

In addition to everything with Covid-19, I have been completely devastated by the recent senseless murders around the country. It has been challenging for me to continue doing what I love while people who look like me are rightfully hurting.
