Glossier Makeup Review: Skin Tint, Concealer, & Wowder

Glossier’s makeup contains products that make your skin look like your skin, but better. They kind of set the standard for the modern day “no makeup” makeup look. Not gonna lie it made me a little apprehensive from ordering anything besides sunscreen from them because I didn’t see a point in putting on makeup just to look like you don’t have any on. But as you can see from the title in this post, I got out of my comfort zone and bought it anyway. Keep reading to see what I ordered, how each product looks on my skin, and my thoughts on everything.

My thoughts: This was my go to base product most of the summer and it’s what I reach for on the weekends when I don’t want to do a lot but still want to look good. The coverage is super sheer so it’s not gonna cover any dark spots as evidenced in the before and after pics. They only have 12 shades, but that’s where the sheerness of the product matters a lot. This type of product doesn’t need to be an exact match. I picked up G4 and it isn’t my exact match but you can’t tell after it’s blended in.

It does appear even my skin tone and dries to a natural finish. The applicator tip can be tricky to get used to because the product is very watery. My tip for applying this product is to apply it to your fingertips and apply it with your fingers. I sometimes use a small foundation brush afterward to make sure it’s blended in evenly. I think this product is good for those who aren’t looking for a lot of coverage at all. If you have any dark spots like I do you’ll def have to go in with a skin tone-matching concealer afterward.

My thoughts: Applying it under my eyes looked good initially but I found it didn’t wear well throughout the day. Once it settled, my under eyes looked weirdly dry. Using it as a spot concealer works out better for me as long as I set it with a loose powder. During the summer I found it to be too dewy on its own but now that the weather is a bit drier and I’m not as oily, I find it to work well.

My thoughts: Glossier did the damn thing with this powder. If it looks like there’s a filter on my face, it’s the powder. It amazes me how I can use so much of it to set my concealer and it never looks cakey. Never. It’s super lightweight yet still keeps my concealer in place. I think it looks better when applied with a fluffy brush as I couldn’t really pick up any product with the sponge.

The design of the container should be improved to allow for slightly more product to be dispensed, but that may be a personal preference seeing as how I’m used to applying much more product at a time. All in all, I like it and find myself using it under my eyes a lot.

Overall, I like Glossier and think it’s suited for those who don’t have a lot of skin imperfections. If you’re looking for full-coverage anything, this won’t be for you. I can see myself using it more once my dark spots fade completely or on the days that I want to look more put together with minimal effort. Let me know which of these products you’ve tried or are thinking about trying.
