Happy New Year beauties!
Every year I set new goals based on what I desire to achieve. This year my goals are a bit bigger than they have been in recent years and I need to reevaluate a few things. The main change is cutting back on spending specifically with clothes, shoes, makeup, and skincare. I guess you can say I’m going on a replacement-only no buy.
For the next 3 months I’ll only be purchasing items that need to be replenished. Outside of toiletries and groceries, my spending will be at a minimum. When my moisturizer and sunscreen run out I’ll replace them. But when one of my foundations or concealers gets used up, I’ll just move on to the next one in my collection.
Part of this is because I plan on moving in a few months and I want to minimize what I’m packing up. The other part is I’m running out of space where I currently am and I don’t want my things to spill over into the kids’ rooms.
What does this mean for the blog?
I intend to get more use out of my products. Play around with color a bit more and try new color combinations. I’ll be showcasing the eyeshadow palettes in my collection (In My Stash), doing more Dupe the Vibes posts as well as more posts on my lip products.
This will also be a good time to remix clothes I already own and get more use out of the closet organizer app that I started using a few months ago. Instead of buying new products, I may create a wishlist and see if I still want any of the items in a few months when my ‘no buy’ period is over. I’m really looking forward to this new phase and seeing how much more creative I’ll be.
Are any of you doing a low- or no-buy? If so, what is your reasoning for doing so? Let’s chat below.
